Rohema JB 1 jazz brush has fine bristles made of metal and a handle made of wood.
We manufacture the handle from high-quality hickory. With a diameter of 14.5 millimeters, it lies comfortably in the hand and feels good. The rubber coating between the wooden handle and the wires is important, especially for accents on the cymbals, which sound less sharp this way.
Small rubber rings can be used to adjust how far the metal wires should be fanned out. The wires are not too stiff, but not too loose either. This results in a warm, mellow sound that is very suitable for Jazz or Latin music.
The wirebrushes JB1 compared to their counterparts with plastic handle have one advantage: they also provide a very nice sound when turning the handle upside down and are thus maximally flexible to use.
The Rohema JB 2 jazz brush produces buzzing, high-frequency sounds with its fine metal wires. The sound thus clearly stands out from other brushes with bristles made of wood or plastic. The JB2 is well suited for Funk or Latin music.
The handles of the drum brush are made of rubber and thus create a different feel than the Rohema JB1 with its wooden handles.
The metal bristles of the JB2 can be pulled into the handles, so they are well protected. In addition, the wires in the handle can be locked in two positions to create further gradation in sound.
The flexibility of the wires is not too stiff and not too loose - optimal for wiping or beating. The JB2 thus has a very compact feel overall. Many Rohema artists use it as the basis for their playing.
Rohema JB 3 brushes have resistant bristles made of nylon. This plastic comes from European manufacturing and has a very smooth surface. It produces rich, low-frequency sounds. Overall, the JB 3 nylon brushes sound a bit bulkier than their metal counterparts with thin wires. The JB 3 brushes' handle is made of durable Hickory and has a diameter of 15.5 millimeters.
